Use this boat ramp to access Lake Apalachia. This is the correct spelling of this lake according the governmental agency in charge - the Tennessee Valley Authority. For more information visit the following website:

This boat ramp is about (2) miles in from the Hiwassee Lake Lodge.
This lake is approximately ten (10) miles long from Hiwassee Dam to Apalachia Dam.
Lake Apalachia is considered a Wilderness Lake and is loved by many fishermen. It is surrounded almost entirely by government property and this boat ramp specifically is the only public ramp on the entire lake.
Many people enjoy launching their own boats or paddling their kayaks and canoes from this boat ramp. Since Lake Apalachia is considered a wilderness lake and is much smaller and colder than Lake Hiwassee, it is an ideal place for paddling and fishing.

This boat ramp is about three (3) miles from the Hiwassee Lake Lodge.
This lake is approximately twenty-two (22) miles long from Hiwassee Dam to the boat ramp in downtown Murphy.
Lake Hiwassee is truly a must see lake and loved by locals and visitors alike. It is the perfect mountain lake for all things lake life and water sports including swimming, skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, etc.
Many people love to access several areas along the roadway leading to this boat ramp in order to swim/float/kayak and/or canoe. Although you cannot swim from the boat ramp itself, you may access any of the government land along the shoreline near this area including the primitive camping areas near the boat ramp.
